It is unclear whether the "chili con carne" dish originates from Mexico or from the southern United States, but the fact is: it tastes wonderful and has found its way into European kitchens. Chili con carne can be prepared in many different ways. You can use minced or chopped steak for the base, but the vegetarian option made with tofu is also very tasty.

Ankerkraut offers two different types of chili con carne, this is the spicy variation for connoisseurs. For that extra kick of flavor and capsaicin we have flavored this mixture with chili and paprika of the following types: spicy Paprika green pepper, sweet paprika, ancho chilies, cayenne pepper, green jalapeno chilies and Asian chillies. Our spice mixture is seasoned with freshly ground coffee in South America and offers an exciting alternative to many other blends. If you are very brave, grate some dark chocolate into the mixture!
