Description
It is hard to imagine Indian curry powder or Asian cuisine without tumeric. Turmeric comes from South Asia and is widely cultivated in the tropics. Turmeric is similar to ginger and also has an intense yellow color. Turmeric is used especially for the coloring of curry powder. The spice has a resinous, slightly burning taste with slightly bitter nuances.
